Punch Taverns celebrates success at ALMR Operations Managers Awards
Punch Taverns was the big winner at the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) annual Operations Managers Awards.
The company's Heike Funke was named Business Development Manager of the Year, while Rob Summers took home the Highly Commended prize.
Meanwhile, Donny McIntyre of Spirit Pub Company was awarded the Area Manager of the Year title and Benjamin Smith of Charles Wells Pub Co was was given the Rising Star award in recognition of qualities he has displayed throughout the awards process, even though he has been working within the licensed sector for less than two years.
Nick Bish, chief executive of ALMR and chair of the awards judging panel, said: "The ALMR Operation Managers Awards celebrate the men and women who apply innovative thinking and tireless enthusiasm to grow their businesses and inspire and motivate their teams in a very tough operating climate.
"The standard of the class of 2012 was exceptionally high and this is demonstrated by the fact that a Highly Commended award was given to Rob, the first time in the awards' history we have done this."
Now in their 16th year, the awards recognise and celebrate the talents and energy of the best operators in the business.
