Ready-made English quality

According to David Rose, the founder of Farmshop fresh, consumers are concerned about the way food is produced and whether it's local.

To address these concerns, the company has launched a range of ready-made meals, using ingredients from the East Midlands.

In addition it is awarding catering outlets who serve these meals a special certificate, as well as an accolade from the Heart of England Tourist Board.

David Rose explains: "We want to reward those establishments that are giving a boost to local producers by serving up farmshop fresh meals with a special certificate to mark their actions."

The certificate is available to all outlets that offer at least three local meals on their menu.

Two new dishes - Sherwood Forest pork in honey and ginger and Heywood Oaks sausage spiral in BBQ sauce are the latest additions to the range.
