Revolution Bars Group to open two new bars costing £3m

Bar company Revolution Bars Group is to open two new large bars this month under its Revolución de Cuba brand.

The company said the new venues in Milton Keynes and Leeds represented a £3m investment. Together, they occupy a combined 20,000 sq ft. The Leeds site will be on the corner of Lower Briggate and Call Lane, while the Milton Keynes site is in Savoy Crescent.

The move will bring the total number of Revolución de Cuba bars to seven. It also has locations in Manchester, Cardiff, Derby, Norwich and Sheffield.

The sites serve rum cocktails, Spanish and Cuban food, and will show live music.

Female customers make up 63% of the brand's clientele.

Mark McQuater, chief executive of the company which floated on the stock market earlier this year, said: "We are delighted to launch these larger Revolución de Cuba bars in Leeds and Milton Keynes. They bring something different to these locations and we are excited about their prospects. We continue to see a high number of quality sites being offered to us by agents as a result of our improved covenant following our flotation."
