Robert Lush, an important figure in hotel and restaurant interior design and restoration, died on May 28. He was 67.

Chairman and chief executive of major design consultant Richmond International for 25 years, he more recently operated as Robert Lush Associates.

His most famous project, during a career spanning 30 years in the industry, was overseeing the refurbishment of the Dorchester hotel in 1990.

International projects included the Amstel in Amsterdam, the Carlton in Cannes, the Hotel Villa Magna in Madrid, the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, the Langham Hilton in London plus the Hotel Lotti, Grand Hotel and Prince de Galles in Paris.
