Roux Scholarship deadline extended

The entry deadline for the 2006 Roux Scholarship has been extended to 27 January.

Among the spoils for the winner this year are a cash prize of £3,000 and a trip to New York, Milan and Champagne, courtesy of various sponsors.

The winner will also get the chance to undertake a stage in a three-Michelin-starred restaurant of their choice in Europe.

All you have to do to have a tilt at the title is to come up with a dish using two ducklings (cooked whole or in portions) accompanied by a couple of garnishes.

After paper judging, regional finals will take place on 2 March with six chefs going on to the grand final on 27 March.

Past winners and current Michelin star holders include chefs Sat Bains, Steve Drake and André Garrett.

Entry forms and information from roux@alisonjee.co.uk , or from www.rouxscholarship.co.uk. Tel: 020 8744 0744.
