Roux Scholarship finalist takes over Peterborough pub

Will Frankgate, a 2007 Roux Scholarship finalist, has taken over the Blue Bell pub at Glinton near Peterborough.

The new venture is in partnership with his father Nick Frankgate and Nick's wife Brigette, both of whom work in front of house.

The aim for the business, which is leased from Greene King, is for it to become the "best gastropub in the area", according to Nick, with an aim to hit two AA rosettes and Michelin Bib Gourmand standard.

Prior to the new venture, Will was head chef at the Dog and Doublet Inn in Sandon, Staffordshire, part of the Lewis Partnership, which operates four sites and an outside catering business.

While at the Dog and Doublet, Will helped the business win Pub of the Year at the Taste of Staffordshire Awards.
