Shrimp and Burger opens in Southampton

A new restaurant named Shrimp and Burger, from the Hampshire-based Delicious Dining group, has opened in Southampton.

The 50-seat site opened in mid-November, and serves classic dishes based around burgers, prawns and New York-inspired hot dogs, including mac ‘n' cheese with prawns, and a Louisiana "soul" burger.

Drinks include craft beers, thick shakes and alcoholic "punch drunk" shakes, such as the Berry Blaster (fruits of the forest with Chambord), Chocolate Orange (brownie and white chocolate and Cointreau); or the After 8 (brownie with crème de menthe).

The new site is part of the Delicious Dining group's expansion and diversification plans, which also include hopes for a new tapas bar in Southampton's cultural quarter.

Marketing manager Annaliese Hughes said: "This is a really interesting time for us as a group, bringing something new to the city and launching the brand almost entirely through social media. Eating out should above all be an enjoyable, fun experience and we hopefully we've achieved this with Shrimp and Burger."

Delicious Dining currently operates nine restaurants, pubs and hotels across and near Southampton, including Puccini's Trattoria Italiano; the Banana Wharf brand at the Port Hamble Marina, Ocean Village, and Dolphin Quays; Ennio's Ristorante e Bar Italiano; Ennio's Boutique Hotel; and Yuzu Lounge Bar.
