Sodexho snaps up games contract
Contract caterer Sodexho has won the contract to provide all corporate hospitality for the 2002 Commonwealth Games, to be held in Manchester.
Catering will be provided for about 15,000 in marquees during the games, which will run from 25 July to 4 August. Work starts on the multi-million-pound contract this month.
Sodexho will employ 500 staff, including more than 40 managers with experience of running a similar service at last year's Sydney Olympics.
Other bidders were Compass and the Sportsworld group.
