Supplier 3G names Matt Goodman as food development chef

Specialist food and drink distributor 3G Food Service and Seafood Solutions has appointed Matt Goodman as its food development chef.

Goodman, from Sunderland, has 23 years' experience as a chef, particularly in the area of food development. He honed his early cooking skills during six years with the Army and before landing his first head chef role in 1997 with Bass Leisure Retail, later M&B.

He then spent three years in a training and development role at the company, opening new restaurants and supporting the food development team on a number of projects.

Goodman has also worked in training and development chef roles at food service group Brake Bros and pub chain SA Brains. He joins 3G Food Service and Seafood Solutions as part of the company's development plans following a management buy-out.

3G managing director Ben Smales said: "Following our management buy-out we have made substantial investments to make our service to customers the best it possibly can be. Matt's appointment is part of that aim, and his expertise, enthusiasm and creativity will not only help us to respond to the changing demands faced by our clients in the food service industry but also enable us to proactively support our customers."
