Written with the licensed trade in mind, PowerText software from PowerText Systems enables individual bars to conduct their own direct promotion to customers via mobile phone text messages. The systems operates through any web browser and allows bar operators to collect and store customer details in various ways based on their specific taste and preferences.
From the information collected, it is possible to send out targeted email and SMS messages based on information known to be relevant rather than unwanted and irrelevant "spam".
The system can automate messages to go at specific times with up to 30,000 sent in around three minutes.
Bar operators using the service pay a monthly subscription ranging from £10 to £100. Cost per message sent starts around 5p each. Up to 30,000 mobile text messages can be transmitted in around three minutes.
