Tim Bilton moves from Butchers Arms to Spiced Pear this week

Chef and restaurateur Tim Bilton is set to open his new venture, the Spiced Pear in Hepworth later this week.

Bilton has run the Butchers Arms in Hepworth for five years but will be leaving the pub this September when the lease with Enterprise Inns expires.

Instead, he has bought the freehold for the site of the Spiced Pear, which was formerly Cragrats and the the Hepworth restaurant, on the Sheffield Road.

The restaurant will continue to offer seasonal cooking and local beers, but will also feature a "vintage" tearoom with views of the Yorkshire countryside, as well as a bar.

The Spiced Pear launches officially on Wednesday this week. The Butchers Arms will continue to operate until September, offering drinks and a range of bar snacks.
