Two-star hotels win AA awards

Two-star hotels in England, Scotland and Wales, have been named Hotels of the Year in the AA's 1998 awards.
A spokeswoman for the AA stressed it had not changed its awards selection process. She added that the winning hotels were places where the inspectors would be happy to take their friends and families.
The winning hotels were the Sandgate hotel and restaurant, La Terrasse, Folkestone; the Lake Hotel, Port of Monteith, Scotland; and Fairyhill hotel, Reynoldston in Wales.
