Desport's restaurant is opening this week in Stratford-upon-Avon.It has 54 seats and will charge £25-£30 for dinner including wine, and £13 for a table d'hôte lunch.
Falcon sold
The Falcon Hotel,Castle Ashby, Northamptonshire, has been sold to the Old English Pub Company through Charter & Co.It has 16 bedrooms and a 60-seat restaurant.
Fox hunted down
The Snooty Fox, at Lowick, also in Northamptonshire, has been sold through agent Robert Barry & Co. The asking price was more than £400,000.
Feed the fife 1,000s
Sutcliffe in Glasgow has won a contract to cater for 6,500 students at Fife College, Kirkcaldy. The contract is for seven years with an annual turnover of £250,000.
Sandal snapped up
Aagrah Restaurants has bought the Sandal Court hotel, Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Plans for the hotel include a 120-seat Aagrah restaurant, a separate hotel restaurant and budget-style accommodation.
Capital five-star
Hotel development group Farnsworth is investing £25m in the building of a 162-bedroom five-star hotel in Edinburgh's St Andrew's Square, for completion in mid-1999.

Contract caterer Chester Boyd has joined forces with Country Club Catering to open a new conference centre, 47 St Giles, in Norwich. The contract will run for 10 years with a predicted turnover of £500,000 for the first year.
