Graythwaite sale
The three-star Graythwaite Manor Hotel at Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria has been sold to Auchlochan Trust through agent Robert Barry & Co for just under the £900,000 asking price. The 21-bedroom hotel had been owned by the Blakemore family since 1936.
Holborn plan
Property developer Safeland plans to transform London's Holborn Town Hall to a 90-bedroom, four-star hotel and restaurant. The group bought the property four years ago, intending to convert it to offices. It now considers the building has greater potential as a hotel.
Stadium scheme
A 100-bedroom hotel and a pub-restaurant are included in Leicester City FC's plans for a new £25m stadium. Plans have been submitted to Leicester City Council and, if approved, construction could begin by September.
Summit on top
Summit Catering has secured the contract for Aris, a computer training company based in Birmingham. The contract, worth an annual £300,000, is to feed 75 delegates for breakfast and lunch daily.
Rain man
Jimmy Beez restaurant and bar in London's Portobello Road has been taken over by Sameer Vaswani and renamed Rain. The50-seat restaurant is to serve a mix of oriental cuisines.
Waverley sold
The Waverley Hotel in Penrith, Cumbria has been sold to Wakefield-based pub company Pubmaster for just under £385,000, through Christie & Co. The eight-bedroom property has a pub, restaurant and a separate cottage.
