Compass extension
Compass Group's travel catering subsidiary has won a £250m-turnover, 10-year extension to its contract to run all the food and beverage operations at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport's Terminal 2. The initial contract was awarded in 1994.
Terminal 2 is used by 22 million passengers a year and has 30 restaurants and bars, including McDonald's, Upper Crust and Brioche Dorée.
Women's place
Charlton House has taken over the catering contract for the Sanctuary, the women-only spa and health club in London's Covent Garden. The three-year contract is understood to be worth about £500,000 a year. The whole catering team, including the area manager who looks after the contract, had to be female.
Lakeside is three
Lakeside Inns has acquired the 39-bedroom Damson Dene hotel in Crosthwaite, Cumbria, for more than £1m, giving the company a total of 95 bedrooms and a combined gross turnover of about £2.5m in three southern Lake District hotels. Lakeside Inns was advised by property specialists Robert Barry & Co.
Granada win
Granada Healthcare Services has won a 10-year contract, worth about £4m a year, to cater for staff, patients and visitors at the North Middlesex NHS Trust's hospitals.
It will also operate a central production kitchen producing chilled food for the North Middlesex Hospital and other Granada Healthcare contracts.
