Village Hotels puts £60m into refurbishment
Hotel group Village Hotels has revealed plans to invest £60m overhauling its portfolio over the next three years.
The company, which forms part of De Vere Hotels and was acquired by the Alternative Hotels Group last summer, is redeveloping its existing portfolio of 17 hotels.
The first property to have been revamped is its hotel in Warrington, Cheshire, which has undergone a 75% refurbishment costing £4.5m.
Chief operating officer Gary Davis said the company's aim was to move Village Hotels forward both in terms of a business and a brand.
"Village Hotels has always had a unique position in the market but we're now focused on moving it from the way it has been for the past 10 to 15 years and turning it into a design and style-led brand," he told Caterer.
The company also plans to expand its portfolio significantly over the next three years, with five new properties currently under development set to open over the coming 18 months.
