Pub chain Wetherspoon](http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/) has been named as the overall winner of the [Loo of the Year Awards 2010](http://www.loo.co.uk/winners/index.php4).

Independent assessors inspected hundreds of toilets in the UK across numerous sectors, including hotels, restaurants, pubs, shopping centres, department stores and conference venues and rated them between zero and five stars.

Wetherspoon also won all four awards in the pubs and wine bars category across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The company also had the highest number of four and five-star award winners, with a total of 150 five-star winners and 38 four-star winners.

The four pubs that won the individual titles were: the Looking Glass, Warrington; the Alexander Graham Bell, Edinburgh (pictured, top); the Pontlottyn, Abertillery (pictured, left); and the Diamond, Derry .

Wetherspoon's head of property and acquisitions, Jon Randall, said: "We are thrilled to have been named as the overall winner of the Loo of the Year Awards 2010. Our staff maintain their pub toilets to the highest standards at all times and this is reflected in the assessor's inspections.

"We will continue to provide our customers with the best toilets at all times."
