White to work with Forte and Sir Rocco

Marco Pierre White is to work with Sir Rocco Forte's RF Hotels to develop a restaurant for the company, while continuing to have his name associated with Compass's Forte Hotels chain.

RF Hotels' latest development, the Lowry hotel in Manchester's city centre, will have a 129-seat restaurant called River Room Marco Pierre White when it opens in April.

White will not be cooking in Manchester but will be involved in key staff selection for the restaurant carrying his name, menu development and recipes, which will feature brasserie-style food.

A spokesman for Forte hotels, where White's involvement includes the development of brasseries in Posthouse hotels, said: "Marco was internationally renowned before his association with Forte, and is free to form any other alliances he chooses."
