Who's Who welcomes Mogford and Ramsay
Hotelier and restaurateur Jeremy Mogford and chef Gordon Ramsay are among the new entries in the latest edition of Who's Who.
The 2001 edition lists Mogford as managing director of Mogford Ltd, Mogford Hotels Ltd and Quod Restaurants, as well as the founder of Browns Restaurants. His recreations - described by Who's Who as "unusual" - are topiary, fly fishing and 20th-century British art.
Ramsay's past as footballer with Glasgow Rangers is mentioned in addition to his career as a chef. His recreations are listed as salmon fishing, scuba diving and long-distance running.
A spokeswoman for Who's Who said both men had proved they were firmly established as major figures in their field. "We never remove a name from Who's Who - once someone is in, they stay in for the rest of their life. That's why we look for people who have a solid career, rather than just having had lots of publicity for a year or two,"she said.
Gordon Ramsay will open Hospitality Week at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre on January 22. After the opening ceremony outside Hall 18 at 10am, he will be signing copies of his book on the Caterer & Hotelkeeper stand from 2.30pm.
