Win a wine and food matching education trip to the Napa Valley

Time is running out if you wish to win a fantastic food and wine matching trip to California with Trinchero Family Estates.

Caterer has joined forces with Californian wine producer Trinchero again this year to offer an exclusive four-day education trip to the Napa Valley.

To qualify, you need to be a chef over the age of 23, working full-time in the UK hospitality industry.

Like 2005 winner Amy Ballin, the winning chef will take part in a series of hands-on seminars at Trinchero's base in Napa Valley, which include food and wine matching challenges, quizzies and wine blending.

Judges will include Ronan Sayburn, executive head sommelier of Gordon Ramsay Holdings, and Barry Wiss, Trinchero's education supremo. The trip will take place between 31 October and 5 November, and the closing date for applications has been extended to 11 September, but hurry. For full details, samples of wine and further information contact Emma Wellings on 020 8747 2071 or e-mail: . !Sutter-Home-Victorian_200x133.jpg *Trinchero's Sutter Home Victorian education centre is in St Helena, Napa Valley* Â

Tasting notes

Sutter Home Pinot Noir Classic varietal aromas of cherry, tea and herbal spice. On the palate, the wine shows bright blueberry flavours with hints of tobacco and mint along with a smooth, silky texture.

Menage A Trois - White Examines what happens when you put three attractive, single young grapes in one bottle! The Chardonnay is rich and firm. The Muscat is wild and exotic. The Chenin is soft and supportive.

Trinchero Family Cabernet Dense, deep and ripe with plums, dried herbs and red earth. It delivers the warm fruit and broad mouthfeel typical of Lake Country Cabernets.

Montevina Terra d'Oro County Zinfandel Dark fruit flavours of blackcurrant and fig accompany the aroma of a steaming cup of Mexican hot chocolate! Richly textured and firmly structured.
