Winteringham Fields chef plans pub redevelopment

Colin McGurran, the chef/patron of Winteringham Fields in Scunthorpe, is looking to redevelop a pub he has acquired in nearby South Ferriby.

McGurran, one of the chefs to make it through to the final banquet in the 2012 series of Great British Menu, hopes to change the use of the first floor of the Hope & Anchor from a self-contained flat to five ensuite rooms, according to the Sunthorpe Telegraph.

North Lincolnshire Council planners are now considering the application.

Earlier this year, the chef embarked on a £1.5m expansion of Winteringham Fields, changing the interior of the restaurant to create more space for diners, and creating four new rooms for guests to add to the 11 rooms that the restaurant already provided.
