Young's buys Guildford pub from Heartstone Inns

London-based pub firm Young's has bought its first pub in Guildford, Surrey, after a deal with Heartstone Inns.

The Weyside, formerly known as The Boatman, is situated just outside Guildford High Street.

It is undergoing an extensive redevelopment project with £300,000 being spent on interior design.

Serving real ale, craft and premium beers and food, the pub features a large open plan bar, a conservatory dining room and an alfresco dining and drinking terrace, and will re-open on 20 February.

The new management team will be lead by husband and wife team Dan and Anna Bragger who have worked with Young's for nine years, previously managing the Alma in Wandsworth and The Waterside Bar and Kitchen in Imperial Wharf.

Operations director for Young's, Steve Gallagher said: "We are thrilled to be opening our first Young's pub in Guildford and believe The Weyside's premium food offering and exciting riverside location will make it a popular drinking and dining destination for both local and wider Surrey residents."
