Hobart Manufacturing Co

Hobart, manufacturer of catering equipment in the key areas of food preparation, cooking, warewashing and beverages, will be introducing new products in its warewashing and beverage equipment ranges. Cookery demonstrations will feature the company’s convection steamers.

A two-tier stand will see many commercial appliance companies from the Electrolux Group exhibiting their products. Among them are Electrolux Foodservice, Electrolux Laundry and Electrolux Leisure. New items on show include Electrolux’s EMS computer diagnostic system which can monitor a range of parameters such as critical cooking and storage temperatures; a medium-duty range of equipment; and refrigerated counters and ice-makers. The stand is also hosting the Craft Guild of Chefs’ Five Nations Menu Challenge.

Metcalfe catering equipment

Food preparation specialist Metcalfe is to launch a number of hand-operated counter-top machines, including the Sunkist Fresh Fruit Sectionizer (below) which produces uniform wedges or slices of citrus and other fruits. Also on show will be the Sunkist heavy-duty commercial juicer, a bagel cutter and a new version of Metcalfe’s 10lb and 15lb bench model potato peelers.

Amefa UK/Monogram

The Japanese range of Bonvivant kitchen knives (left) is to be introduced by Amefa UK/Monogram. The 15 knives have an 18/8 stainless steel hollow handle with a molybdenum/vanadium steel blade. Also on display will be two new 18/10 stainless steel cutlery patterns that complement the other 18/10 patterns in the Amefa range.

Wiesheu wiwa

The Sono mini combi will be on display for the first time. It is a compact, four-rack 2/3 gastronorm oven that uses a 13amp socket and will be added to Wiesheu’s existing range of 6-, 10-, 20- and 40-grid combination ovens. The table-top Minimat range of bake-off ovens is also to be unveiled.

Convotherm will be showing its 20:20 size gas-powered combination oven. The OD gas model holds 40 x 1/1 gastronorm containers or 20 x 2/1 dishes and has an electronic control panel for six different programs. Electronic spare parts for both the OD 20.20 and the 12.20 gas models are compatible with those throughout the electric Perfect range. Also on show at the stand will be the new HACCP software package and pictogram programing facility.

Charvet UK officially launches to the UK catering market at Hotelympia. Equipment on offer includes modular and bespoke ranges, static and tilting bratt pans and boiling kettles.

Among the products to be launched by Dualit is the redesigned 10-litre soup kettle featuring temperature control and wet heat operation, allowing food to be kept at an exact temperature and preventing liquid from congealing. The clamp grill sandwich toaster will also be on show for the first time. It has an adjustable, sprung counter-balanced top-plate, heat-resistant handles and wipe-clean cooking plates.

Fast Food systems

Two of the items making their debut on the Fast Food stand are the Clamatic double-sided contact grill and the Vizuaroma. The three machines in the Clamatic range are said to be easy to operate and all feature nine separate programs. Designed for places such as fast food outlets, pubs and cafeterias, the Vizuaroma will produce about 45lb of smoked ribs, pork, beef or chicken in one hour.

MCS Technical Products

The new version of the Sage high-pressure cleaning system, which now includes a water heater, will be one of the products on show at the MCS Technical Products stand. Also on display for the first time is the latest item to join the Accutemp range – a griddle that the company says will have no cold spots.

Robot Coupe

Five new products are to be launched by the food preparation equipment and drinks machine supplier Robot Coupe (UK). They include the Stick Blender (right), designed for liquidising and puréeing soups, sauces, gravies, pƒtés and food for special diets. Two models are available – the MP450 has a processing capacity of up to 100 litres, and the MP550 can process 200 litres. To celebrate Robot Coupe’s 21st birthday, caterers will be offered the chance to save £100 or £150 on the CL50 model vegetable preparation machine when they buy a CL30 version.

Euro Catering Equipment

A new type of grill will be on show at the Euro Catering Equipment stand. The grill is an electronically controlled energy-efficient electric model (below), fitted with a heating element allowing it to reach temperatures of 200ºC in seven seconds. This rapid heat-up time gives energy savings of up to 65% compared with ordinary powered salamanders.

As the sole distributor of the French Rotisol brand, Trident Rotisseries will be showing the latest additions to the range. The Rotisol Wall of Flame rotisserie will be demonstrated during the show by visiting French chefs. The Packaged Coldroom range will also be introduced – the company has used the refrigeration system and high-density insulation to give maximum capacity so providing more storage and shelf space.

Seal Display Products

Seal Display Products, producer of counter-mounted refrigerated, ambient and heated food display systems, will introduce its slimline Horizon range of food display cabinets. Also on show for the first time is a redesigned heated version of Seal’s Gastrowell front of house food display unit. Both heated and refrigerated versions are available in five sizes.

Blue Seal

The E35 convection oven is the new introduction from Blue Seal. Both models take six UK standard-size baking sheets and have electric counter convection ovens with turbofan forced-air circulation.
