Chef Charlie Rushton has quit the top job at Marco Pierre White’s Mirabelle restaurant to work for London restaurateur Joel Cadbury.

The chef, who learned this week that he has earned the Mirabelle its first Michelin star under White’s ownership, has become executive head chef for Cadbury’s restaurant at the Admiral Codrington pub in Chelsea. He will also run a new restaurant at the Salisbury Tavern pub, which opens in Fulham in March.

Rushton, who worked for White for almost two years, said that he left on “very good terms” but felt it was time to move on.

Martin Caws, formerly sous chef at the Oak Room, has taken over from Rushton at the Mirabelle.
