History in the making

One hundred years of competitive Army cookery were celebrated at the 1996 Army Centenary Culinary Competition. Held last month at the Army School of Catering, Aldershot, the event was marked with demonstrations of cookery through the ages and a trade fair. Representatives from all the Armed Services, teams from NATO, Eastern Europe and civilian students were invited to take part.
