Prince Charles slammed fast-food giant McDonald’s yesterday and seemed to call for a ban on the Big Mac.
During a tour of the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi, the Prince – a fervent supporter of organic food – asked a nutritionist whether they had “got anywhere with McDonalds?”
He added that he thought the key to solving the problem of childhood obesity was to ban the burger.
McDonalds said it was “disappointed” by the Prince’s remarks. A spokeswoman said: “This appears to be an off-the-cuff remark, in our opinion. It does not reflect our menu or where we are as a business.”
Prince Charles runs a farm on his Highgrove Estate which produces pesticide and fertiliser free products under the Duchy of Cornwall label.
