Starboard Hotels takes on first hostel site
Holiday Inn franchisee Starboard Hotels has signed a deal to manage its first hostel in Edinburgh.
The company, which opened the Holiday Inn Express in Burnley in September 2008, has taken on the management of the 132-room Smart City Hostels in Blackfriars Street.
The hostel, in Edinburgh's Old Town, has a café, bar, roof terrace and a meeting room holding up to 25 people.
Paul Callingham, managing director of Starboard Hotels, said: "It is an interesting addition to the Starboard family and gives our team the opportunity to bring our sound and professional approach to such a fun and growing sector of the hospitality business."
Starboard Hotels has planning permission for Holiday Inn Express Hotels in Gateshead and Edgbaston plus a Days Inn Hotel in Wetherby.
