New leaseholder for West End sports bar

A brand new lease on the Sirocco sports bar in London's Shaftesbury Avenue has been sold to a new, independent leisure operator.

The 565 sq m bar, which is licensed for up to 385 people, is owned by the Delfont Mackintosh Theatres estate, which owns seven of the West End's leading theatres.

Sirocco occupies a prime site in the heart of London's West End between Chinatown, Soho and Piccadilly Circus.

It comprises a 238 sq m ground floor with a large, open-plan bar that is overlooked by a 63 sq m mezzanine balcony. The 264 sq m basement houses the kitchens, toilets and storage space.

The bar holds a premises licence to serve alcohol until 3am from Friday to Saturday and until 1am from Sunday to Thursday.

Property agent Davis Coffee Lyons let the property on a 10-year lease with an annual rent of £285,000 after seeking rental offers in excess of £275,000. Sirocco was previously operated by Soho Bars & Clubs.
