Michelin-starred chef Nathan Outlaw is to launch a new restaurant in Cornwall, Caterersearch can reveal.

The chef, who runs his eponymous restaurant at the Marina Villa hotel in Fowey, will take over the food and beverage operation at the St Enodoc hotel in Rock next month.

As part of his remit at the 20-bedroom property overlooking Cornwall’s Camel Estuary, he will launch a new restaurant called Nathan Outlaw Seafood and Grill in June.

The 65-seat restaurant will serve a menu of classic British fare with a focus on Cornish seafood and meat dishes including steaks and casseroles.

Head chef will be Peter Biggs, who previously worked with Outlaw at the Black Pig in Rock, where he first gained a Michelin star in 2004.

Outlaw told Caterersearch the restaurant would be open seven days a week from breakfast through to dinner but would be closed for two months in the winter.

“It’s not all about Michelin ambitions and this will be a vibrant place and a lot more relaxed than my other restaurant,” he said.

“I have taken over the lease and will divide my time between the two restaurants, overseeing breakfast at the Seafood and Grill and cooking dinner at the restaurant in Fowey.”

Nathan Outlaw joined the Marina Villa hotel at the end of 2006 and gained a Michelin star in 2008, while also being tipped as a future two-star restaurant.  He previously held a star at St Ervan Manor.
