The Hodgson family are the new owners of Mansfield House hotel on the outskirts of the Borders town of Hawick in Roxburghshire.

Mansfield House is a Category C Historic Scotland Listed Victorian mansion, retaining a wealth of original features such as moulded ceilings, decorated cornices and rich woodwork.

It offers 12 en-suite bedrooms to sleep 30 guests, a 40-seat dining room with marble fireplace and brass chandeliers, a bar, and a residents' lounge.

The self-contained Thornwood function suite has its own lounge-bar and can hold up to 200 guests. There is parking space for 20 cars outside.

The business achieved a profit (before depreciation and finance charges) of £129,940 on a net turnover of £417,670 in the year to 31 May, 2007.

The Edinburgh office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the feuhold off a guide price of more than £725,000 on behalf of Ian and Sheila Mackinnon, who have owned the property for the past 24 years.
