Nescafé Partners Blend Fairtrade coffee is the tip of the iceberg
Nescafé Partners Blend is the Fairtrade coffee within the Nescafé stable of brands. It is 100% Fairtrade arabica beans, giving a coffee smooth, balanced and rich that is sourced primarily from Ethiopia and El Salvador where projects are underway to help these communities achieve social, economic and environmental sustainability.
It is just one of the initiatives by Nestlé Professional as part of its commitment to sustainable business. As the largest buyer of coffee direct from farms - more than 70,000 tonnes a year - Nestlé provides 771 agronomists to give free technical advice to farmers helping them to manage their crops successfully.
"Sustainability has been at the heart of Nestlé Professional operations for many years, starting at sourcing of coffee beans through to how we work with our customers," said David Field, managing director, Nestlé Professional.
"Our commitment to sustainable best practice has a long history, it isn't new; we are talking about it, now, because we want our customers, partners and advocates to fully understand the scale and scope of our approach. We recognise a business has to be commercial to prosper but, we believe, it is important every organisation incorporates sustainable best practice in the way it operates. To that end, we are working with our customers to find innovative ways of delivering profitable business solutions whilst meeting sustainability targets'.
