Nineteen independent businesses have been honoured as part of the Les Routiers Awards for 2010-11. The travel guide has introduced nine new categories to this year’s awards. The winners are:

Bar of the Year: Le Petit Parisien, Camberwell, London

Bed and Breakfast of the Year: Jeakes House Hotel, Rye, Sussex

Boutique Hotel of the Year: Rockwell Hotel, Kensington; London

Cafe of the Year: Simply Blues, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex

Conference Centre of the Year: The Royal Hotel, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset

Country Retreat of the Year: The Beckford Inn, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire

Dining Pub of the Year:The Railway Inn, Honiton, Devon

Family Retreat of the Year: Manor House Hotel, Dorset

Gastro Pub of the Year: The Swan Inn, Denham, Buckinghamshire

Guest House of the Year: Elvey Farm, Pluckley, Kent

Hotel of the Year: St Giles House Hotel, Norwich, Norfolk

Inn of the Year: Shibden Mill Inn in Halifax, West Yorkshire

Live Music Venue of the Year: Troubadour, Old Brompton Road, London

Newcomer of the Year: The Stag at Offchurch, Warwickshire

Pub of the Year: The Tempest Arms, Skipton, North Yorkshire

Real Ale Pub of the Year: Charles Lamb, Islington, London

Restaurant of the Year: Eastern Eye, Bath, Somerset

Wedding Venue of the Year: Stoke Rochford Hall, Grantham, Lincolnshire

Wine Bar of the Year: Mitchells, Tattenhall, Cheshire

The winners are chosen by a combination of industry judging and guest feedback, and all establishments are awarded for their consistent commitment to excellence in service.

“Winning this award is affirmation that we feel we are forging ahead in the right direction. It’s fantastic news,” said Glen Pearson, general manager at Shibden Mill Inn freehold pub, voted Inn of the Year.
