10 June 2011
Acorn winners 2011 – Sam Moody

Age 26
Position Head chef, the Bath Priory hotel
Nominator Sue Williams
Proudest career moment Being nominated for my Acorn award
Greatest inspiration Michael Caines for his absolute determination and serious hard work, and the amazing produce and producers I work with every day.
Ambition I would like to help inspire the next generation, work a bit harder each day, and catch a barbel.

Sam Moody's nominator calls him a shining example of a dedicated, committed professional. He started full time work as a chef de partie at Ockenden Manor in 2002, then three years later moved to Gidleigh Park Hotel in Chagford as a junior sous chef under Michael Caines. When Caines took over as executive chef at sister hotel the Bath Priory, he brought Moody with him, where he is now head chef.
