Lincat, manufacturer of commercial catering equipment, has announced it will be an official supplier of the WorldSkills Cooking Competition 2011.
Accordingly, 19 Lincat Opus OSC61 SelfCooking Centres and three Silverlink 600 electric salamander grills will be put through their paces by the world’s most talented young chefs, as they compete for a WorldSkills gold medal.
WorldSkills London 2011, the world’s largest skills event, will take place at ExCel London from 5-8 October. Over 1,000 young people, from over 50 countries across the globe, will gather together to compete to be the best of the best in a wide range of vocational skills including cooking. The reigning cooking gold medal holder is Adam Smith of the Ritz, London, who triumphed at the 2009 WorldSkills competition in Calgary.
“We’re delighted to become an Official Supplier of the WorldSkills Cooking Competition 2011. It’s a great vote of confidence in our products that they have been chosen for such a prestigious event”, said Nick McDonald, Marketing Director of Lincat. “It’s satisfying too that our equipment will, after the event, be supplied to further education colleges throughout the UK to create a positive, lasting legacy.”
