Coast A social enterprise delivering support, training, guidance and consultancy to businesses and destinations across the UK. It runs the free on-line One Planet Tourism network covering 25 countries.
Common Fisheries Policy (CFP): The fishery policy of the European Union (EU) was created to manage fish stocks for the EU and maintain a sustainable and thriving fishing industry. It sets quotas for amounts of each type of fish allowed to be caught but has been criticised by fishermen for threatening livelihoods.
Considerate Hoteliers Association: Association to help hoteliers adopt sound, sustainable, environmentally friendly and socially responsible policies and practices.
Energy Saving Recommended: An Energy Saving Trust initiative backed by the Government. Its logo denotes energy efficient kitchen appliances, integrated digital TVs and energy saving mains controllers.
Energy Star: a joint EU and US energy ratings initiative which signifies office and other equipment which uses less energy.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and EPA-approved: US-based agency set up to protect human health and the environment, it runs the Energy Star accreditation scheme for environmentally friendly products.
European Ecolabel Scheme: Products are assessed on their lifecycle impact. Electrical equipment has to achieve energy efficiency targets.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC): An independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
Green Tourism Business Scheme: The largest accreditation scheme in the UK with over 2,000 members. It assesses business’s impact on the local economy, social impact and benefits as well as environmental factors.
Good Catch: A joint project with the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), SeaWeb’s Seafood Choices and Sustain, Good Catch provides practical information and events for chefs, caterers and restaurateurs, making it easier for them to serve more sustainable seafood.

RSPCA Freedom Food: The RSPCA’s farm assurance and food labelling scheme and the only UK farm assurance scheme to focus solely on improving the welfare of farm animals reared for food.
The Soil Association: The UK’s leading organic organisation and a membership charity that campaigns for environmentally-friendly, organic food and farming.

Swan Ecolabel: Ecolabelling Sweden market and licence two of the most well-known Ecolabels in the world: the Nordic Ecolabel and the EU Ecolabel on products ranging from hotels and restaurants to cleaning detergents and batteries.
United Against Waste: UK campaign by Unilever Food Solutions to galvanise the hospitality industry and tackle the issue of avoidable food waste with a single voice.
