Aiden Byrne teams up with Living Ventures to launch fine-dining restaurant in Manchester

Aiden Byrne, chef-proprietor of the Church Green in Lymm, Cheshire, has teamed up with Living Ventures to open a fine-dining restaurant in Manchester.

The Restaurant & Lounge at Manchester House, which will open in March next year, will occupy several floors of Tower 12 in Spinningfields.

Byrne will join Living Ventures managing director Tim Bacon and his business partner, Jeremy Roberts, as a shareholder and director of the new restaurant.

Bacon said the intention for the joint venture with Byrne was to win Manchester its first Michelin star in nearly 40 years.

Bacon said: "It is incredible that a city of Manchester's size and pedigree does not have a starred restaurant. There should be three or four at least and we at Living Ventures would like to get the ball rolling. I invite other chefs and proprietors to join in the endeavour."

Byrne, who previously worked at Danesfield House in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and the Dorchester's Grill restaurant in London, runs the Church Green, the Collingwood in West Kirby as well as the Aiden Byrne British Grill at Macdonald Hotels' Craxton Wood hotel near Chester.

Byrne was unavailable for comment.
