London's Japan Centre to open new restaurant

London's Japan Centre is to open a new restaurant this month, specialising in ramen noodles.

The Japanese shopping centre will open Shoryu Ramen, a stand-alone restaurant on Regent Street on 17 November.

The restaurant will serve tonkotsu ramen noodles, a pork-based thick white soup, originating in the Hakata district of Fukuoka city in Kyushu Japan. Shoryu Ramen will offer a number of different flavours of the dish including wasabi, piri piri and the signature Shoryu version. Other dishes including traditional sushi, sashimi and starter dishes will also be available at the restaurant.

It is the latest addition to Japan Centre's growing portfolio that includes a flagship restaurant, bakery and deli on Regent Street and a sushi and sake bar in Westfield Stratford City.

Japan Centre first opened in 1976 as a bookshop with the idea of catering for the Japanese community in London. It now also includes a supermarket, home-ware department and online shop.
