Masterchef: the Professionals contestant lands Marcus Wareing job
Masterchef: the Professionals contestant Aaron Ashmore has landed a job with Marcus Wareing.
Ashmore, who featured in the fifth series of the popular BBC Two television programme, has been appointed as a commis chef in Wareing's eponymous two-Michelin-starred restaurant at the Berkeley hotel in Knightsbridge.
The young chef entered Wareing's kitchens in the semi-final, when he went up against fellow contestant Oli Boon. Despite losing out on a place in the final, Ashmore's dish earned him a full time position with the celebrated chef.
Wareing commented: "Aaron has a strong work ethic and determination to succeed, something I look for in all my employees. He is a great young chef and I look forward to him joining the team at Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley."
The appointment comes less than a year after Wareing made a public comment that that cooking shows such as the BBC's MasterChef were "brilliant, but they were not passports to success. The key to success is longevity".
Ashmore starts his new role on Monday [18 February].
