Boutique hotel group Malmaison has appointed Chris Steadman as general manager at its flagship hotel in Oxford.
Steadman joins the hotel, which is housed in an old prison within the walls of Oxford Castle, from Hellidon Lakes Golf & Spa Hotel where he was general manager for four years.
Prior to this he was general manager at yhe Stratford Hotel as well as De Vere Venues and Champneys Health Resorts. He previously worked in the Midlands and London with hotel groups such as Marriott and Hilton Hotels. 
Commenting on his new role Steadman said: “I look forward to leading a quality team in providing consistently great service at this iconic property. Whether it is sipping the coolest cocktails at the bar or enjoying an exciting dish at the brasserie, we will ensure all guests have a flawless experience.”
Owned by the MWB Group, which also owns the Hotel du Vin group, Malmaison has a portfolio of 12 properties situated in key cities across the UK. It will be launching a new 91-room hotel in Dundee this summer.
