Hotel Inspector Ruth Watson's hotel regains five-star hygiene rating

Ruth Watson, former presenter of the Channel 5 show, The Hotel Inspector, has regained a top food hygiene rating for her own hotel, having lost it last year.

Watson was given one star out of five at the Crown & Castle in Orford, Suffolk, after it was inspected by the local council.

The hotel has now regained its five star rating.

Watson said that last year's low rating was as a result of lost paperwork, rather than because of any hygiene problems.

Watson presented the Hotel Inspector for three series, as well as Channel 4's Hotel Rescue.

Suffolk Coastal District Council said: "An unannounced revisit was made on 6 March when the [hotel] demonstrated they were able to comply in so far as they had made structural improvements and appeared to have satisfactory understanding of the significant hazards associated with the food handling activities."

The council said inspectors were obliged to wait at least three months before revisiting a business after a one-star inspection.
