MEATliquor co-founders Yianni Papoutsis and Scott Collins are set to open a new restaurant in Brighton.

The new site, to be called MEATliquor is expected to open its doors in September this year at York Place on London Road. Reflecting it’s coastal location, the restaurant will also serve fish.

Collins took to social network Twitter this morning to announce that planning permission for the new project had been secured.

They have been in negotiations to open the restaurant since this time year to obtain licensing and the required planning permission.

The pair also run MEATmarket on London’s Covent Garden, MEATmission on Hoxton Market, MEATliquor on Welbeck Street, and the mobile Meatwagon.

Collins also runs food consultancy Drexl & Floyd co-owns Wishbone & was a shareholder in the Capital Pub Company.

Papoutsis and Collins opened the temporary #Meateasy in The New Cross Tavern, part of the Capital Pub Company estate in 2011, garnering huge social media attention and positive reviews.

The pair opened MEATliquor later that year.

Greene King bought Capital Pub Company for £95m in 2011.
