Bulldog Hotel Group adds seventh coaching inn site in Market Harborough
The three-star, 61-bedroom Three Swans Hotel in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, is to undergo a refurbishment of its public areas after being acquired by the Bulldog Hotel Group, off a guide price of £2.75m.
Headed by Kevin Charity, the Bulldog Hotel Group now has seven hotels with a total of 232 bedrooms and a turnover of more than £8m.
Charity said: "We plan to carry out refurbishment works in early 2014 to add a coffee shop and patisserie, double the size of the present bistro and to add an additional 100 covers in a new outside area scheme."
Last year the company completed an extensive £1.3m renovation of the Talbot Hotel, Eatery and Coffee House in Oundle, Northamptonshire, which it bought from Greene King in 2009. Two years were spent getting the necessary planning consents to completely re-model the Grade I-listed property. Its extensive food and beverage offering now includes a pub, coffee shop and restaurant, the latter which has been awarded one AA rosette.
