New look Dormy House in the Cotswolds welcomes first guests

The four-star, 40-bedroom Dormy House in Broadway, Worcestershire, has re-opened this week following the completion of the initial stage of a £10m plus refurbishment.

New interiors by Todhunter Earle have injected new life into the 17th century former farmhouse, which for the past 36 years has operated as hotel, as part of the Farncombe Estate owned by the Philip-Sorensen family.

Meanwhile the garden has received the attention of landscape architect and TV presenter, Chris Beardshaw.

The hotel, which has been closed for five months, now features an all-day dining pub The Potting Shed and the new Garden Room restaurant, both which are looked after by consultant chef John Wood and head chef Paul Napper.

January 2014 will see the completion of Dormy House's new look with the opening of the House Spa, which will incorporate an infinity pool, treatment rooms, fitness gym, dining area and terrace garden. The project is being overseen by Howard Spa Consulting with the design by Sparcstudio, which was responsible for the look of the SO Spa at Sofitel St James, London, and the Calcot Spa, Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
