Legacy Hotels and Resorts takes over management of Newquay's Hotel Victoria
Legacy Hotels and Resorts has signed a three-year contract to take over the management of the three-AA-star, 71-bedroom Hotel Victoria in Newquay.
The hotel has been owned for 40 years by the Taylor family, who will continue to operate the on-site Mexican restaurant, Irish bar and Cornwall's largest nightclub with a capacity of 2,100.
Jim Gordon, managing director of Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said the Hotel Victoria was an exciting edition to the 17-strong Legacy portfolio and marked the group's first property in Cornwall.
"The Taylor family has run the hotel to extremely high standards over the last four decades and it is located in a fantastic position overlooking Great Western Beach in Newquay Bay," he said.
"Our management expertise will boost its sales and marketing presence throughout Newquay and Cornwall because it is an excellent venue for leisure breaks, conferences and weddings.
Richard Taylor said Legacy Hotels and Resorts has a fantastic track record in the industry of driving hotels forward.
"We were keen to appoint an established hotel management company to take over the day-to-day running of the Victoria while I concentrate on the bar, club and restaurant operation," he said. "I am sure Jim and his team will take the hotel from strength to strength."
