Salt Yard Group to partner two brothers on new Soho restaurant opening

Salt Yard Group is to partner with two brothers to open a new French bistro in Soho, as well as acting as consultant on the project.

The London restaurant operator has entered a joint venture on the new project, called Blanchette, with the two brothers whose idea it was to launch the venture. One of the two brothers, Yannis Alary, has worked for Salt Yard Group at its Dehesa restaurant for the past five years. The other, Maxim, has worked in front of house management for many years at venues including Asia de Cuba, Roka/Zuma, and Massimo's at the Corinthia hotel in London.

Blanchette will be at 9 D'Arblay Street in Soho, around the corner from Salt Yard Group's upcoming opening, Ember Yard.

It will serve simple, classic and inventive French food, based on the idea of sharing, with charcuterie plates, homemade terrines, cheese, whole roasted chicken and apple tart featuring on the menu.

French wine and organic cider will also be at the restaurant, which aims to use seasonal and local produce, and maintain a familial atmosphere.

The pair's other brother, Malik, who is the founder of sound design company La Musique du Faubourg, will design and maintain the music selection to create a lively and social atmosphere within the restaurant.

Speaking about the launch, Salt Yard group co-founder Simon Mullins said: "Yannis and Maxim make a phenomenal front of house duo and their concept is lined up to be a real hit. We're happy and excited to partner with them on this great project."
