Arnaud Stevens and Searcys to open Sixtyone restaurant

Chef Arnaud Stevens is set to open Sixtyone, a new restaurant at 61 Upper Berkeley Street in London, on 11 November.

The new venture is in partnership with Searcys.

Stevens was previously executive chef at 30 St Mary Axe, also known as the Gherkin, and has also worked at Maze Grill, Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, La Tante Claire at the Berkeley, and City Rhodes with Gary Rhodes.

His menu at Sixtyone, where he will be chef/patron, is set to include dishes such as:

Mussels with bread soup and crispy sucking pork belly;
Rabbit confit with parsnips, mustard and pistachio;
Jerusalem artichokes with Scottish girolles and hazelnuts;
Fillet of venison with salsify, celeriac and blackberries;
Squab pigeon with parsley risotto, snails and cauliflower;
Banoffee parfait;
and Braeburn apple tarte tatin.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, with starters priced at £6-£11, and main courses at £15-£24.50. It will accommodate up to 61 diners, with a private dining room for 16.

There will also be a weekly changing set lunch and early evening (5.30-7pm) menu at £22 for three courses, and £18 for two.

Artan Mesekrani (previously at Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's), and the sommelier will be Jonathan Cellier (formerly at Searcys Club at the Gherkin).

"The location and style of this new restaurant are perfect for my West End ‘debut'. I am excited about the opportunity to showcase my food to a new audience of customers, in particular the local neighbourhood," Stevens said.

"I have a great partnership with Searcys, and I am looking forward to exploring new ingredients and dishes with my team."
