Ex-Savoy chef Bernhard Mayer takes new role

German-born Bernhard Mayer has been named executive chef at the Sloane Club and the Apartments by the Sloane Club.

Mayer, who was most recently executive chef at the Savoy hotel in London, will oversee all menus at the Sloane Club, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner in the Bar and Dining Room.

He will also be responsible for private events in the Chelsea Rooms and at the Apartments by the Sloane Club, which opened in April last year.

Many of the chef's recipes feature an Asian influence after Mayer spent several years working in Hong Kong and Jakarta. He has also executive chef at the Four Seasons London.

The Apartments by The Sloane Club comprise 18 luxury serviced apartments in Sloane Gardens.
