Atul Kochhar and Tom Kerridge confirmed for Royal Ascot
Michelin-starred chefs Tom Kerridge and Atul Kochhar are confirmed to head up the fine-dining experiences during this year's Royal Ascot.
Around 35,000 guests are expected to enjoy the fine-dining hospitality across the five day event, which will take place from 17 to 21 June.
Kochhar, owner of London restaurant Benares, will cook at the iconic horse-racing event for the first time, bringing his signature style of British ingredients and modern Indian cuisine to the Panoramic restaurant.
He joins the Kerridge, chef owner of the Hand & Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, who will be operating the new On 5 restaurant, which will open after multimillion pound investment in the new Grandstand facilities.
The two chefs, who join a host of catering partners at Ascot, including Sodexo Prestige, Rhubarb, Le Nôtre, Smart Group and Centreplate - will work closely with Ascot executive head chef Steve Golding (pictured).
Kochhar said that Royal Ascot is the perfect place to showcase his love of British ingredients married with Indian techniques.
"Indian culture and horses go back a long way and Royal Ascot is of course one of the great British Institutions," he said. "It is a special occasion where people come to celebrate and I think we've come up with a menu and experience in the Panoramic Restaurant to reflect this."
Meanwhile Kerridge was very happy to be returning to Royal Ascot for a second year. He said: "I am thrilled to be invited to host the new On 5 restaurant this year during Royal Ascot week. It's an amazing facility that suits the history and elegance of Ascot.
"I had a lot of fun hosting a restaurant during Royal Ascot last year and look forward to returning with some new ideas to help make this year's event one to remember."
