Michael Caines resigns as F&B director at Brownsword
Two-Michelin starred chef Michael Caines has resigned as food and beverage director at Andrew Brownsword Hotels, amid the agreement of new collaboration terms between the two parties after 11 years working together.
The new agreement sees Caines stay on as executive chef at Gidleigh Park hotel in Devon, which was bought by Andrew Brownsword in 2005, but will allow the celebrated chef more time to pursue other outside interests.
He will also continue to oversee Michael Caines restaurants in the city centre ABode hotels on a consultancy basis.
Commenting on the change, Caines said: "I have enjoyed a fabulous time with Andrew and Christina and would like to thank them both for their support. I am proud to have worked in close partnership with them to create the ABode group of hotels."
He added: "My commitment to Gidleigh Park remains absolute, and I look forward to continuing to work with Andrew and Christina. I am at the stage of my career when it is also time to look forward to future projects and to pursue my own business interests."
Andrew Brownsword thanked Caines for his "tireless efforts in developing our food & beverage offers to the very highest level".
"I'm very pleased that Michael will continue to be involved with our business, whilst also wishing him well with his future other endeavours," he concluded.
