Roxburghe hotel aims to become ‘world-class' under management of ICMI and Albert Roux
The four-AA-star, 22-bedroom Roxburghe hotel on the Scottish borders has signed a 15-year management contract with Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI) and Albert Roux.
Owned by the Duke of Roxburghe, the hotel stands in the grounds of his ancestral home of Floors Castle, near Kelso, Roxburghshire. It will be taken over by the new management team on 1 September with a view to achieving a world-class reputation for its hospitality and food.
Roux will create a Chez Roux restaurant at the hotel, as he has done at other ICMI-managed properties including Andy Murray's Cromlix House. He will also oversee the clubhouse brasserie alongside the 18-hole golf course.
The Duke of Roxburghe said he believes ICMI and Roux will help position the Roxburghe among the finest small luxury hotels in Scotland.
"This is an important development not only for the Roxburghe Estates, but also for the Scottish Borders, increasing our role as a destination hotel," he explained.
Roux described his involvement with the Roxburghe hotel as "a dream come true".
"The Roxburghe is such a prestigious place and connected with Floors Castle," he said. "We will definitely put it on the world map!"
ICMI manages many of the leading luxury hotels in Scotland including Inverlochy Castle in Fort William, Greywalls in East Lothian, and Cromlix in Dunblane. It is headed by Dr Sin Chai as chairman, and Norbert Lieder as managing director.
Dr Sin Chai said: "We are really looking forward to seeing this lovely hotel flourish and being further enjoyed by visitors from near and far."
